Greg Conley’s vibrant and dramatic impressions of the natural world are deeply influenced by the lush wilderness encircling the cities and suburbs of Northeast Ohio. He finds inspiration in the diverse wilderness vistas within close proximity to his home.
His artistic creations, sometimes called “woodscapes,” are a reflection of these forests, rivers, and glens, where the sky is obscured by dense canopies of green, casting natural light that illuminates the deep woods in enchanting ways.
Greg’s artistic journey began with studies in painting and printmaking on a scholarship from the Cleveland Institute of Art from 1971 to 1974. Following a decade-long hiatus to pursue a career in music and meet his wife, Liz, he returned to academia, earning a B.A. in Studio Art at Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, Ohio in 1986. With over 15 years of experience in the publishing and advertising industry as an illustrator, art director, and graphic designer, Greg has a great passion for painting, drawing, music, and writing.
